Restore Your Smile with Dental Implants in Laguna Niguel

The goal of Soraya K. Mahran, DDS is to keep your smile as healthy as possible. However, certain circumstances may arise wherein a natural tooth cannot be saved from advanced decay. In these cases, an extraction and replacement may be necessary. To help patients who have lost teeth and who do not desire traditional teeth restorations, Niguel Family Dentistry provides dental implants in Laguna Niguel, Dana Point, San Juan Capistrano, Mission Viejo, and the surrounding communities.

Dental Implant Placement

Dental implants consist of three parts, but the titanium post of the implant is the key to an implant’s success. This post serves as an artificial tooth root, granting the implant a level of stability similar to that of a natural tooth. Consequently, the first step in receiving dental implants is to surgically place dental implant posts into the bone of the jaw.

Our Laguna Niguel dental practice is able to provide dental implant placement. We have an on-staff orthodontist and periodontist, both of whom can perform the surgery and check on the healing of the placement site. Because the posts are made of titanium, they will fuse to the jawbone during a six-month healing period; the result of this osseointegration process is a firm foundation for the rest of the dental implant.

All-on-4® Dental Implant System

The All-On-4 implant system is a durable system designed to provide you with a fast method to replace a full arch of teeth. Instead of needing an implant for every missing tooth, Dr. Mahran will only use four implants to replace an entire arch of missing teeth. The All-On-4 can provide you with a comfortable, carefully fitted set of fixed dentures in a single appointment.

Dental Implant Restoration

Once the implant posts have fully integrated into the jaw, your dental implants are ready to host the restorations which serve as your visible, functioning replacement teeth.

Dental implant restorations can take many forms, depending on your teeth replacement needs. If you are only missing one tooth, a single implant post supporting a single porcelain crown will serve your restorative needs. If most or all of an arch of teeth is missing, then four or more implant posts may be required to host a partial or full denture, respectively. Tooth loss cases that fall between these two extremes, in which a small row of teeth is missing, can be best served by placing a fixed porcelain bridge atop two or more implant posts.

Dr. Mahran is very experienced in providing dental implant restorations to her patients. While you are preparing for dental implant placement, our Laguna Niguel dentist will ship out the restorations to a dental lab we work with often for fabrication. Once the fabrication is complete and the site of placement fully healed, she can take the dental restoration and attach it with an abutment to your dental implant post, thereby completing the dental implant process.
